Women brushing hair staring at hair loss, Alopecia Awareness Month

October 02, 2019

September has been Alopecia Awareness Month with plenty of events taking place to highlight hair and scalp problems.

Alopecia is the clinical term given to any type of hair loss, and falls into different categories, from temporary to permanent. With treatment, temporary alopecia can see the restoration of the hair and scarring. However, permanent alopecia is where the hair is lost and cannot be recovered.

As a Trichologist, I am passionate that anyone who suffers from any kind of hair or scalp problem should have access to specialists who will not only diagnose their condition but will inform them of all the possible options for treatment, cosmetic or surgical solutions. We want to address these conditions not just during Alopecia Awareness Month, but all year long.

Absolute Collagen is a fantastic supplement that can really help restore your hair to its crowning glory if your diet is identified as an underlying cause to your problem.  The tiny power-packed sachets provide a full 8g of protein with all the amino acids the hair needs. It provides around 10% of a female’s daily protein requirement.

Autumn is also the time of year when scalp eczema and psoriasis can flare up and make your life miserable. Absolute Collagen helps to reduce the underlying inflammation that causes these conditions, and with effective Trichological treatment you can say goodbye to steroid lotions and creams and hello to a healthy balanced scalp.

I presented at an International Trichology Congress at the beginning of September with some of the world’s leading Trichologists, Dermatologists and Scientists. What is clear is that there has never been a better time to review your hair and scalp health. The earlier we see you, the better the results we can often deliver.

To celebrate Alopecia Awareness month, I’d like all #Absoluters to please spread the message that the route to fabulous hair and a super healthy scalp is to see a Trichologist, not a GP or Dermatologist.

I use Absolute Collagen with many of my patients to treat specific problems and without a doubt, this supplement delivers results that lead to great hair and a healthy, balanced scalp.

I love hearing from you all about your own hair and scalp questions, or concerns for family and friends, and am delighted to be able to offer advice to help you, for all those people who ask me I can confirm that I am an #Absoluter too!
